My name is David Bélanger, and I’m a program manager on the Remote Desktop team working on Remote Desktop apps for the different Windows platforms. The Microsoft Remote Desktop Preview app for Windows Phone 8.1 is currently available in the Windows Phone Store and we are adding new features over time to ensure the app meets your needs.
We’d love your help in finding out what feature set is really important to you to ensure you can accomplish the activities you leverage Remote Desktop for, whether that’s connecting back to your home PC, accessing your office PC while out to lunch or eventually being able to connect to the new Microsoft RemoteApp service or other remote resources made available to you by your admin.
To help you do so and help us prioritize, we’ve created a new feature request site. So go on over, take a look at what others have requested, vote on your favorites or add your own new feature requests. Note that posting does not guarantee that your request will make it into the product, but it is a good way to ensure we know what you really care about.
heres a idea.. Drop the crappy metro (WinRT version) and just use the RDP that been with windows for like ever... The Desktop Version is way better as a Remote Desktop even with touch, then then WinRT version will ever be .
I love the Remote Desktop app so far, but I really need function keys on the top of keyboard. F1 - F12. It seems like this would be fairly easy to add. Also, you may want to make the keyboard semi-transparent. It would be nice to somewhat see what you are typing since the keyboard takes up almost the entire screen on my Lumia Icon. It would also be nice to be able to use the app in portrait mode instead of always having to use it in landscape.
I really like the new features in the Windows 8 Remote App - my only frustration is the hover areas. I always have to revert to key strokes because it keeps toggling between the remote machine and the physical desktop. Some way to know which context the hover areas are active would be good.
Please male it optional (for the administrator)to control the rdp traffick flow from client to rds hosts, Mao you Can decide of the traffick you go through the IIS server (2008) or bypass IIS (2012). It is far more easy to control Security when both the rdp and the rdweb traffic is ising IIS. In the 2012/2012r2 we control that at the hosts and that sucks.
+1 for portrait mode, currently you can't use this application onehanded :/
What about full RD Gateway and Connection Broker support?
+1 for Portrait mode support. Version 8.0.8.x is still missing it!
