I like the distributed computing concept in theory, but I'm always skeptical of computing resources volunteered to the grid. It's like the SETI project for the Internet. The search for intelligent life on the web... What's the likelihood they'll find it?

Jimmy Wales did say that "community members will also be actively involved in the editorial process governing search engine results" which frightens me to the core. I don't want somebody "editing my search results," dammit.
What I want is a search engine that will accept regular expressions!!
