What a show! I went to see Mötley Crüe  on Friday night in Tampa. It was their 3rd show on the Red, White and Crue , Better Alive Than Dead re-union tour. High energy Rock and Roll!  The concert was sold out as you might expect. The owner of Club Bourbon Street , Greg Serio, contacted me on Friday afternoon that he had 2 tickets for me if I wanted them. They were in the Budweiser premium seats, with food and drink provided. Are you kidding me, am I dreaming? Many thanks to Greg from Bourbon Street and Carmine from Budweiser!

I invited Blain Barton, Microsoft Technet presenter and we got there just in time for the opening “Shout at the Devil”, they closed the set with “Home Sweet Home” (I think). The 2nd set started with “Girls, Girls, Girls” and they had several girls doing all sorts of acrobatics over the stage and a very sexy video behind the stage. The played “Kick Start my Heart” in the set and ended with “Dr. Feel Good.” I can still feel the bass. You will never guess what they did for the encore! “Helter Skelter” by the Beatles! What a show, ton of pyro, the most I’ve ever seen at a concert. Vince Neil said, he felt very weird on stage “I’m so old and you’re [the audience] so young” with a few explicatives added in as well as saying “I can’t believe we are together again”. They were awesome. My kids nearly died when I told them about going to see Mötley Crüe as they are one of their favorite bands as well! If you get a chance and can get tickets, go and see a great show when they come to a  town near you. They have a ton of cities they are hitting on the tour.

Blain and I then ended up at Bourbon Street in New Port Richey to see the last set of a Rolling Stones cover band, Satisfaction, who were incredible as well. What a great night of Rock and Roll.

So this week, I am looking forward this week to kicking off a new .NET user group in Ft Myers on Thursday night. I will be doing a preview on some of the new MSDN Content we are doing next quarter in the Spring Series on Web Services and Click Once deployment. I better go, I have some prep to do. See the user group announcements below for me details for this and other groups meetings coming up (btw, if you have a user group in the gulf states area… also I am redirecting my www.russtoolshed.net site to this blog as I beefed up all the static links for user groups, other presentations and developer resources. Do you like it? Suggestions and comments are always welcome.

PS. Tentative plans are being made for a Tampa Code Camp on Saturday, July 23rd. More details to follow.. just mark the date for now.
