Don's talk was very interesting to me, and it really sets the stage for the upcoming Indigo talks later this week. He is such an entertaining speaker that it is hard not to enjoy what he is talking about. And his talk succeeded, because I am buying into the whole "services" as opposed to "distributed objects" concept. I'm sure I'm not alone. But, I'm waiting to see someone really drill into this topic before I assess how compelling this is. The one thing I will say is this- Don's talk finally validated what so many in our community have been saying for so long. .NET Remoting is already on the path to becoming a legacy technology.

I think Ingo's shifting focus to enterprise services and ASMX services over the past year has probably been a good indicator of this as well. His post on this topic is rather coy, I'd like to see some more discussion from him this week.
