The information stored in the AD RMS logging database can be very useful to administrators who want to gather insight about the health and usage of their organization's AD RMS cluster.  Peter Gilson, a Senior Software Design Engineer in Test at Microsoft, recently created a presentation about how to develop reports that show data queried from the AD RMS logging database, which we are making available on TechNet Edgeas a series of short videos.  We have posted the first three:

  • Introducing the AD RMS Logging Database:  In the first video in his series on AD RMS logging, Peter Gilson introduces the AD RMS components that collect and write data to the AD RMS logging database and describes the different reporting tools you can use to view the health of your AD RMS cluster.
  • Reports and Logging in the AD RMS Console:  Peter Gilson introduces the three reports that are included in the AD RMS console, reviews AD RMS logging in IIS, and presents the AD RMS logging service in the second video in his series on AD RMS logging.
  • An Introduction to the AD RMS Logging Database in SQL Server:  Peter Gilson introduces the basic concepts of the AD RMS logging database in SQL Server.
