I have to agree with Joel Semeniuk (Joel From Canada: Speedtest.net) on this one, Speedtest.net is pretty cool! Despite the simple URL, I'm posting it so I don't forget about it.

You can check the Internet speed at here http://www.scanmyspeed.com/ it will show the Speed in Mbps and MBps.
