How great is this latest Bot, from the MSR-MT team Windows Live Messenger translation bot now available!
Really easy to use and setup in a few seconds on Windows Live Messenger, and on your smartphone.
To get started just add firstname.lastname@example.org to your contacts, then start a conversation with TBOT ? to get a list of commands, and then for example enter 7 (for English to Italian translation), then type your message and you get a machine translated response such as
‘quanto freddo è il Bot in tensione di traduzione del messaggero delle finestre’
Update – just also added this to my Office Communicator and of course it works fine there too.

Er. I'm Italian, and the translation sounds a bit as
"How cold is the Bot in tension of translation of the messenger of the windows".
Now, I'd suggest to edit the post and use a English to German translation :P
I am perfectly aware of the difficulties of automatic translations, and Italian is one of the hardest languages for that so, maybe, an English to German translation would work better.
thats MC for you i guess well it was supposed to read
how cool is the windows live messenger translation bot
wie der Fensterphasenkurier-Übersetzung Bot kühl ist
make any sense :S
um... my native language is German, and no, sorry, it doesn't. None whatsoever.
What it says is "how the window phase courier translation bot cool [as in: cold] is"
Also, the bot seems to have a problem with the word "bang".
Whenever you give a sentence with the word bang in it, you get those replies:
Translation Bot: That's interesting that you should say that, but I don't think I can answer.
Translation Bot: I'm sorry, I don't have an answer for that.
Translation Bot: Let's talk about something else.
Translation Bot: Sorry, I have to take a break now. See you later!
And then stops talking to you...
well I guess it isn't perfect :o
