I know I'm a little late to the party with this one, but we released the 1.2 version of VSeWSS in eary June. This adds support for VS 2008. Unfortunately, no 64 bit support.
Any reason for no 64-bit support? We are new to SharePoint development and use 64-bit machines to support a large set of memory for running virtual machines.
So many of the developers at my organization have x64 installs on thier dev machines to allow for greater memory when writing code. We have virtual server installed and use sandboxes for testing on our development machines. 64 bit support goes beyond the target server platform.
Please consider publishing an x64 package soon as I would be willing to bet many developers are installing x64 versions of XP/Vist/2003R2 and Server 2008 for thier dev machines.
What are the other options of developing the MOSS 2007 elements like webpart's, features, solutoins, deployment packages and others using the Visual Studio 2008 64 bit? It will be great if you could send the reply back asap. I would be reachable at firstname.lastname@example.org .
