Now that we are more or less final on the features of PowerPivot for Excel, I thought I would do a series of posts on the PowerPivot for Excel setup experience on various operating systems.  There are six currently supported operating systems for PowerPivot for Excel:

• Windows XP
• Windows Server 2003
• Windows Vista
• Windows Server 2008
• Windows 7
• Windows Server 2008 R2

Each of these operating systems has their own prerequisites, service pack level and supported processor architecture.  I will delve into these for each OS.  I'll start next time with installing PowerPivot for Excel on Windows XP.
