Count down for Windows Compute Cluster Server 2008 (btw, I am making up this name as I do not know what else to call it) has begun. This will be the next version of Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003, the Windows Server sku for High Performance Computing.
This upcoming version of Windows Compute Cluster Server will be based on Windows Server 2008 a.k.a Longhorn Server. So if you are a High Performance Computing solution developer or HPC ISV in short grab the beta3 bits of Windows Server 2008 Standard x64 Edition from microsoft.com/downloads and take your HPC apps for a spin. If you application is compatible with Windows Server 2008 Standard x64 Edition, it will take you minimal additional effort to take advantage of our upcoming HPC platform.
