Great to see two participants in last year’s 7x7 pitching session at TechEd 2008 in the top two positions on the Herald’s top start-ups of 2008 list.

The aim of the 7x7 session was to invite seven start-ups to pitch their company/product/story to the press – for seven minutes. eBUS and Mindscape were two of the companies who gave very effective presentations to the assembled media.
They managed to convey in a short amount of time what they were about, what differentiates them from their competition and, most importantly when talking to media, they kept in mind that a journalist has to build a story from the presentation. Always make it interesting and (especially for tech stories) try to humanise it!
