First of all, I apologize for the lack of posts over the past 2-3 weeks. As I had mentioned before, I was going back home to Canada for the holidays.
The vacation was great, and since it had been about two years since my last visit I had a lot of people to see :) My wife also had a good time despite the language barrier (since she does not speak French). Probably the worst for her was the cold as she had never dealt with temperature in the low teens!
My mother was doing well despite her cancer and was really happy to see me which is a great thing! Since our time together is limited, I am planning on going back in a few weeks to spend a few more days with her before she gets too sick.
I did get back on Dec 30th, however it seems that both me and my wife caught something either in Canada or on the plane back. We have both been sick for almost three weeks now with the worst flu we've ever seen. Had to take a full week of sick days last week as i had no energy and was severely short of breath. I still feel fairly ill this week but had to go back to work as things do need to get done. We are both on a second wave on anti-biotic treatment and both had chest x-rays yesterday. Hopefully the doctor will be able to figure out what is going on and get us on the way to recovery.
Oh, and finally! My green card was approved last Friday! The best part is that i don't have to deal with the CIS anymore for a whole two years!!!
