I turned off my pc manually and the virus protection is no longer functioning...why? How do I get it to function? Do i remove security essentials and then re-download security essentials? This is not the 1st time. I have windows xp & IE#8.

I keep getting an auto update for Outlook 2003, and it keep failing to install-what gives?

In addition, I did not then and do not now want or like Outlook, so why am I forced without my consent to have it? !

The latest MS Security Update attempts to coerce end users into agreeing to MS accessing and reporting over the internet about our computer and computing activities as a condition for receiving a MS patch to buggy, insecure software. MS did not permit a severing of this permission from the security update.

I did not agree to it. I am reporting this violation and appalling business judgment to the FTC.

This is an appropriate way to treat MS's customers??

Charles Tyree The error you are receiving is because of an virus or an updating issue with the Windows Update Tool this is for Windows Visa, Windows 7, Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows 8.

You can find the update in the link at the bottom of this comment,

If you receive Windows Update error 80070490, it means that a file (CBS Manifest) that's needed to install updates is corrupt.

download and run the System Update Readiness Tool

Please click on the Windows version you have and what version you are running, Example 32 Bit or 64 Bit

Windows security won't allow me to turn on my Avast Anti Virus, It was fine up until today.

Error Codes/Error Codes... now this one is 80070490...how do you get rid of this? The Mr Fixit and other stuff doesn't do it. Why can't Microsoft fix thier own errors?
