As a follow-up to the opening of our Redmond Ridge computer lab last week I wanted to share details of another case study for incorporating environmental sustainability into the construction and operation of Microsoft’s expanded campus in China. The project is expected to provide a return on investment in terms of cost savings, cost avoidance, and strategic value.
Microsoft IT worked with other Microsoft teams to build and run a green campus in Shanghai. The teams focused on deriving benefits from the following elements of the campus: offices, data center, labs, desktop and laptop computers, virtual collaboration.
