I've been ping'd by a couple of folks for an update on this issue.  Unfortunately, a solution (or even a commitment to a solution) will require some patience.  The IE team is investigating this along with many other issues that affect much larger numbers of customers. The earliest potential opportunity for a fix would be roughly a couple of months from IE9's release - this is the planned schedule for IE updates. As I learn anything/updates on status, I will post it here.
