Today is a wildly exciting day for Silverlight and all football fans! NBC announced that this fall, Silverlight together with IIS Smooth Streaming, will power full HD (720p) experiences for live delivery of all the NFL Sunday Night Football games this season. Wait until you see the unbelievable high-quality experiences made possible by our advanced HTTP adaptive streaming technology. It all starts Thursday Sept 10th.

In addition to the main HD broadcast feed, there will be 4 additional feeds that users will be able to switch between. The Silverlight-based player will include full DVR and picture-in-picture functionality allowing the user to pause and scroll back-and-forth and support “slo-mo”, all of which is going to be super cool.
