We kicked off MIX10 this morning to a packed house of designers and developers who are building the world’s most innovative consumer-facing and enterprise Web and desktop applications.  Attendees come from around the world and represent top web sites, web start-ups, interactive agencies and other organizations that do business on the Web. And with the wealth of new announcements about Windows Phone 7 Series and Silverlight today, the energy onsite is electric as developers look forward taking everything they’ll learn this week to develop next generation applications for the Web, desktop and devices in the coming months.

To start things off, Scott Guthrie, CVP, .NET Developer Platform, kicked off the day by announcing the Silverlight 4 Release Candidate then dug into building Windows Phone 7 Series apps with Silverlight, XNA Framework, Visual Studio 2010 and Expression Blend.  During the keynote Joe Belfiore, CVP, Windows Phone Management, showed a bunch of great mobile applications and talked about how Windows Phone 7 Series brings a new platform and new opportunity for developers and designers.
