This release helps to uninstall all previous versions of WinFX Runtime Components 3.0 and Jan CTP release as well. Now you should not have any problems with any parts of WinFX installation left behind (it happens rarely but happens). Beware that because of coupling between some previous releases and .NET Framework 2.0 Beta also Visual Studio 2005 in any beta version will be removed after running this tool. There is no other way of installing the newest WinFX Runtime Components 3.0 release without uninstalling the previous ones and .NET Framework 2.0 Beta as well. Without .NET Framework 2.0 Beta pre-RTM versions of Visual Studio 2005 will fail to run and may fail to uninstall so we have decided to add removal of Visual Studio 2005 to the tool. I apologize for any inconvenience to those who find this behavior troublesome. You can always try to uninstall WinFX Runtime Components 3.0 using Add-Remove Programs from Control Panel.

Just in case you have accidentally removed one of the Betas, I would like to remind you that you can always download Express Editions of Visual Studio 2005 for free.
