Brian was another one of our international guests taking on the long trip from Microsoft HQ in Redmond. Brian is an expert around ALM and a great presenter.

Brian covered End-to-end ALM with Team Foundation Server 2010 and Visual Studio 2010 in a two-part session. In his words:

BrianKeller Greetings South Africa! My name is Brian Keller, and I’m a Sr. Technical Evangelist for Microsoft’s Visual Studio Application Lifecycle Management.

It was exciting to be in South Africa for DevDays and present on the new capabilities of ALM with Visual Studio 2010. Just a few of the features I showed off include:

  • installing TFS 2010 in 10 minutes or less;
  • work-item hierarchy and agile planning tools in TFS 2010;
  • manual testing with the new Microsoft Test Manager;
  • the new code architecture tools (dependency explorer, architect explorer, UML models, layer diagram validation) with Visual Studio 2010;
  • coded UI testing;
  • branching and merging visualization;
  • gated check-in;
  • and much, much more…

It’s was really great to be with you and meet many South African developers. Until next time!
