Today's New York Times has a nice article about all the work that goes into fixing those last few bugs on Windows and Office.  You can't quite see Mike Tiano in that top photo of Vista Ship Room, but he's there someplace.  In fact he's there right now as I type this: rain or shine, twice a day.

And people take every single bug report very seriously.  I was at an offsite last week at the Woodmark Hotel (in Kirkland, a few miles from Redmond) and I ran into some annoying connectivity issues.  I filed a bug (of course!) and a few days later happened to look at what happened to my bug report.  Somebody from the networking team had sent two testers back to the hotel to see if they could reproduce it in hopes of narrowing it down.  Wow.

We don't do that with every single bug report, but these days as we get to fewer and fewer active bugs, we take them much more seriously.  Go ahead, try to find a bug in the latest release (I'm using Vista 5752/Office 4518.1006).  Just try!
