Next week I'm taking my family on a short vacation to Big White, a ski place near Kelowna, about 6 hours drive from Seattle.  (look at the exact location in 3D glory on local.live.com).  Besides the skis, of course, I'm packing my speech-powered Vista laptop so I relax between black diamond runs.  Unfortunately that T-Mobile offer for free wifi access on Vista won't help me in Kelowna.

My Treo will work just fine on roaming, though.  I found out that Verizon will let me switch automatically to their "North America's Choice" service plan so I can still make/receive calls (and get data) just like I do in the U.S.  My total number of monthly minutes goes down a bit, but I never come close to using them all anyway.  Kelowna doesn't have EVDO, but I should be able to get data.  TXT messaging just comes the same way as my regular plan.

Any Vista users in the Kelowna/Big White area?  Let me know where the best coffee is.
