  • I am still getting the following error : A transport-level error has occurred when receiving results from the server. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.)

  • I am trying to export my database from my SQL Server to azure. Table is having a primary key defined, So Clustered index is there, yet azure is not accepting the data and throwing this stupid error:

"Tables without a clustered index are not supported in this version of SQL Server. Please create a clustered index and try again."

Can someone from blog team comment about this ?

  • Hi Wayne, can we use this tutorial also for website or it's just for cloud services? thanks!

  • I actually had a similar issue and found that turning up the batch size and packet size helped.  The natural instinct is to turn it down, but switching to settings of -b 10000 -a 16384 (defaults are 1000 rows and 4096 bytes) made the problem go away for me.

  • Selectively you can use it for your on-premise web service also, i.e. you don’t need to upload certificates and a few other things don't apply.

  • Did anyone ever find out how to get this installed?  The option is never available to install it, I just get the existing installed components and the install won't proceed because it says I've not selected anything to install.

  • Nice demo.

  • I just checked and with build 11.0.2065 I can now create heaps.

Was the clustered key limitation removed recently ?

  • Where is it? The link is not working anymore.

  • After the data node gets patched, what happens to the replicas that were on it? Are they completely removed given that other replicas were created before the patch was started?

  • The Transient Fault Handling Application Block is available here: msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh680934(PandP.50).aspx

For anyone establishing connections with SQL Azure, using the ReliableSqlConnection is certainly a huge improvement from the code sample in this blog post.
