  • Hi,

Sql Server management studio results tab is missing. I was not able to view results of my executed query using sql management studio.

Not sure what options I have changed.

Please help me. I am struggling with this since a week

    Any advise is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

  • Did anyone ever find out how to get this installed?  The option is never available to install it, I just get the existing installed components and the install won't proceed because it says I've not selected anything to install.

  • Yep, you have to install it once.

Then Run the installer again, this time choosing update. Select another free version, e.g "advanced" or "with tools". Run the installer to the end.

Then run the installer ONE last time, then you will have the option to choose MSSQL Managment studio under components when you install.. redicoulous but it works.

  • Dear Friends,

I was suffering from the same situation of SQL Server Management Studio installation, and I have a found a way to install it. Follow the steps.

Install the visual Studio 2008 or 2010 the sql server 2008 instance will be automatically installed.

Now don't run the SQL Server 2008 R2 Setup.

First run the SQL Server Management Sutdio, and install it completely.

Now you can run the SQL Server 2008 R2 Setup.

    everything will be fine.

if you dont want to install the Visual Studio 2008 or 2010.

then First install the sql server 2008 simple not R2 and finish the installation.

Then install the SQL Server Management Studio 2008 R2.

After finish the installation you can run the SQL Server 2008 R2 sp2 Update.

    I hope it will work.
