Exciting news as earlier this week the SQL Server Product Group announced the release of SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) v5.0! A product with the goal of further simplifying the user experience in automating the migration of Oracle, Sybase, MySQL and Microsoft Access databases to SQL Server or SQL Azure.

In this release, SSMA family of products has been improved to further to reduce the cost and the risk of migration from Sybase, Oracle, MySQL and Microsoft Access. Additional functionality includes:

  • Migrating to SQL Server "Denali",
  • Globalization support for migrating non-English databases to SQL Server,
  • Support for installation of an extension pack on clustered SQL Server environments
  • A number of enhancements focused on Sybase and Oracle migration,
  • Improved scale and performance of the migration itself.

  • I've tried numerous times in vain to download the software from several different sites. I would really appreciate a viable web site which i can use to continue my migration form access to 2008.

    Thank you,
