  • The KB article says that's for SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 1 though?

  • thanx but the kb article say: Applies to

       Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 1, when used with:

           Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Enterprise

           Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Developer

           Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Express

           Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Standard

           Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Web

    There is no word about SP2

  • So this title says it's for 2012 SP2, but the KB article specifically states SP1. Does this apply to SP2 or was this fixed with SP2?

  • The KB article is in the process of being updated. As the blog post says, we have uploaded a fix for SP2.

  • Does the issue also affect SQL Server 2014 RTM or 2014 RTM CU1?

  • Never mind. SQL Server 2014 RTM CU2 came out today with a fix for this issue, so apparently it did affect 2014 as well (at least 2014 RTM CU1).

  • Ajay, given the severity of this Bug, can we expect it to be available on the catalog.microsoft.com  for Windows Update and SCCM automatic install on our enterprise?

  • @Kevin  yes it affects both SQL Server 2012 and SQL Server 2014. the fix for each version are:

    2012 - has 2 options

    -------- CU10 + KB2969896 -> Bulld 3437

    -------- or SP2 + KB2969896 -> Build 5522

    2014 - CU2 -> Build 2370

  • the fixes need to be available on windows update and SCCM catalog.
