Yesterday we have confirmed a SQL transactional replication problem in SQL Server 2012 version 11.0.3460.0 where running a second instance of the log reader agent for a different publication will fail with error “Another logreader agent for the subscription or subscriptions is running, or the server is working on a previous request by the same agent.”   We are working on releasing a SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 1 hotfix next week to fix this problem.   For an immediate fix, customers can upgrade the affected SQL Server instance to SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 2 (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=43340). This problem will also be fixed in the next Cumulative Update for SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 1.

  • I am unclear as to what versions of SQL this affects?  I can't find a build number 11.0.3460.0 anywhere listed so is this the version number that SQL 2012 will have after this hotfix is applied?  What versions of SQL 2012 are impacted by this bug?

  • Ok I guess i found it.  It affects SQL 2012 SP1 where the QFE patch for MS14-044 was applied.
