I want to know that what is difference between service pack 1 and sp1 fratures packs and express.

And if we are using enterprise edition which we should install.

My requirement is sql server 2008 r2 SP1.

I have already installed SQL server 2008 R2.

need to install sp1.

THANK YOU.... Thank you for posting this blog that clearly outlines SP and CU versions. Previously, all that we had to go on was a SQL Version database maintained by Chris:

This will help a lot in keeping track of what the most current version is!

How about support for Managed Service Accounts? Was this added in a CU? Or will it be part of SP1?

2. if not required, does it work with SQL 2008 as well?

I think it'd probably work like described here

so if SP1 contains fixes from CU7, then it's ok, but if it's not included then you'll lose them and they'll be out as a CU for 2008 R2 SP1

Tina is correct - GMJ if you check support.microsoft.com/.../981356 this shows all updates and build versions for SQL2008R2

There is a CU7 (under link support.microsoft.com/.../2507770)

Will this (and potentially any further CUs) be included when SP1 is released publicly rather than as a CTP?
