Offical team blog for SSDT, a tool for on and off-premise database development
On Friday, September 14th, SQL Server Data Tools will release an update for both Visual Studio 2010 and Visual Studio 2012. SSDT functionality for both Visual Studio versions are completely in sync with this update, and database projects (.sqlproj) fully roundtrip, so working with colleagues across shells is easy. Along with this release, we are providing updated power tools with useful new capabilities. Plus, for the first time, the SSDT Power Tools will be available for both Visual Studio 2010 and Visual Studio 2012.
In our upcoming release announcement, we’ll provide more detail about the improvements that you’ll find in SQL Server Data Tools – September 2012. In the meantime, check out the Visual Studio 2012 Virtual Launch Event at www.visualstudiolaunch.com and don’t forget to check back on Friday for the new SSDT!
Also support for SQL Server 2012 BI Projects (SSIS etc) in Visual Studio 2012?
Looking forward to the update. Thank you!
Are we there yet ;-)
@ Per Schjetne, not in this update, those teams report that that will be released within the calendar year.
Hopefully the out of memory issues will be resolved.

Even after this update performing a Schema Compare will still cause VS 2012 to crash about 2-3 minutes later (usually when I copy something to the clipboard). I've got the problem across every project, across all my dev machines - even a fresh install w/ just VS 2012, SQL Server 2012, and SSDT installed. The other people I work with all have the same problem, even on their personal projects at home. Is this not happening to anyone else? Or does everyone just do the workaround of shutting down Visual Studio immediately after doing the compare and (update | create script)?
Prior to the update it was 100% reproducible. After this update it doesn't happen every time, but still happens frequently.
SQL Server database projects in VS 2012. Where is the tutorial?
Any update on making the BI Project template available in SSDT 2012 for Visual Studio 2012 Shell?
