We had a kickoff meeting for the new DotNetNuke SIG at of the PhillyDotNet User Group on Tuesday (6/14) night. Hal Dell presented about the history of DotNetNuke and gave an overview of the software, and Todd Davis showed some real timesavers using CodeSmith to build new modules for DNN.
Bill Wolff, the PhillyDotNet UG leader, spoke about Tech Ed and his meetings with the DotNetNuke Core Team/Board and their work with INETA, and started the meeting with a conference call with Shaun Walker, the Father of DNN for the whole group.
There were about 30 people at the meeting, which was pretty amazing considering that the mailer that was to send out meeting information had a problem and most of the e-mails weren't sent! This was a great starting meeting, and was replete with animated discussions and great demos.
