Apparently that's me - well according to PC Retail Magazine in their "Big Interview" with me in this months magazine. Clearly I'm not the new Microsoft but every small change in opinion counts. One step at a time is how I'm approaching these small changes.
Page one of the interview is a bit of a shocker, comprising a HUGE photograph of me that had a friend almost spitting his cornflakes out over breakfast but the rest of the interview pleased me a lot. I really enjoyed chatting with the editor, Scott Bicheno, and having a wide ranging discussion that was a welcome relief from the usual approach of "lets see who can get the most out of the interview" approach. It was just a good honest chat about "stuff" as I call it.
This is the part I enjoyed most though - the realization that actually Microsoft isn't the enemy, the borg, the 300 pound gorilla or any of that crap. We're real people doing real jobs that we care about.
Thanks Scott - makes everything worthwhile reading stuff like this. Maybe my new business card helped?
Where's the picture, so we can make SteveCla shrines
:)
BTW mid-market? Huh?
Barry, trust me you'd be thinking more effigy than shrine if you saw the picture. On the mid-market thing...I know. It's a case of internal job titles not making any sense in the real world. Basically midmarket for MS means companies between 50 and 1000 employees. Fortunately my job title has changed again since then to something slightly more understandable.
Congrats on the article; now I'm going to have to buy the magazine so I can read the whole thing (I'm gonna send you the bill for that btw <grin>).
Cool business card too, I've always thought business cards should start a conversation and not just be a place to store your contact details.
I though 50 to 1000 was SMEs. Which is always cool to say :)
As for effigy now I am tempted ....
(will you be coming to webDD? you can't let DPE have all the fun)
thanks Gary - hope you enjoy the article!
not sure on webDD yet Barry- may drop over for a while
