WLW is by far my favourite app from Microsoft in a long time and the beta 2 has some great new features.
New Authoring Capabilities
Windows Live Spaces, WordPress, and TypePad have all taken advantage of the Provider Customization API to expose additional service-specific features within the Writer UI. Hope this gives you the date publish option Dennis!

Thanks for the heads-up on the new beta of Writer. I gave it a shot upon first release and it wasn't quite ready. It seems as if it's come a long way.
I've been using Live Writer for a while now and even this earlier beta was pretty good, especially knowing more was to come. I doth rock!
