The BBC has collaborated with Microsoft Live Labs to create 3D representations of some of the most dramatic buildings in Britain by combining hundreds of different photographs with Microsoft's Photosynth technology. Most of the locations are featured in the new BBC series 'How We Built Britain'.

Lots of people have blogged about this already during the week but given my interest in architecture I had to add to the voices. This is stunning technology at work that has some much potential for business and the general public it's amazing. I wont bore you with the potential applications I see for this as I'm sure you can dream up many more. Just follow the link and make sure you install the Photosynth control and then sit back and be amazed.

If you want to see more of the potential here, check out this brilliant TED video with Blaise Aguera.
