A candid admission from KT and one that is welcomed. We could have been accused in the pat of going ugly early and then changing (and confusing) customers and partners. No more....we're more careful and balanced about what we say and with good reason.
It's also great to see KT acknowledging the partner asset as being key to our success. They always have been and in this new era of Software + Services they will be again. We have some things to figure through but clearly Kevin believes in them
Asked if companies such as Google are a threat on the software plus services front, Turner answered by pointing to Microsoft's partner base. "We are the company with the partner ecosystem," he said. "Those companies don't really have a partner ecosystem, not like the one we have. That ecosystem, sincerely, is how this company was built."

Rock on. You'll be hearing a lot more from me about this.
A good list from Alex at Read/Write Web and no surprise on #1 - I could have predicted this and also have my reservations about how well iPhone will go down in the UK based on it. Don't get me wrong, I think the iPhone is awesome but the on screen keyboard is hard to use (unless you have chiseled nails) hence texting and email are tough. This is the exact same reason I sent my HTC Touch back - I just couldn't get a txt message tapped out quick enough. For many in the UK, that could be a showstopper. Will Apple release an OS update before launch here? If I were them, I'd make it prio #1
The date is in the diary and early bird registration is now up and running - £100 off if you book now for Mix UK. The agenda looks great and I know the keynote speaker (Scott Guthrie) is going to be terrific so make sure you're there and look out for the Blue Monster bloggers dinner which will be announced on our Facebook group.
Well, it's not really Surface but similar technology. Not sure I like the song but the floor show is cool :)
I read a great story in the Times Educational Supplement last week about teachers using Messenger to help kids do homework and raise the students grades.
The City of Lincoln Community College has seen success with last year’s grade results too. The pupils, teachers and parents all participated in learning how to use Messenger and other services in a responsible but fun way. Pupils got to speak with their teachers on a 1:1 level and got personal coaching and tuition, teachers got to build their trust and impact on the pupils and also managed to get a better work life balance as a result, and parents learnt that their children were doing homework and revision at the same time as socializing. Amazing and true!
These are the kind of stories that need to be heard more often but I guess they don't make good press. Seriously, it's cool stuff - check out learning.live.com
