Search the Microsoft UK PTS Team Blogs

I came across this cool macro feature of Live search earlier today and decided to create a search that would allow me (and now you) to search quickly across all of the UK PTS team blogs. The 7 guys in the group publish some great stuff week in week out on all manner of topics so for me alone this is a useful resource. Hopefully some other folks will find it useful.

You can search out blogs us Microsoft UK PTS Team Blogs search and you can create your own macro quickly and easily at

  • Steve,

This is a great idea and a good pitch for the live macros.

One thing that would be good, is for this to be able to leverage blogs in a more intelligent way, for example, pick up the category/tag names and use them to provide grouped / better ranked results, as well as ignore the category names as free text, to give more accurate results.

For example, if you search for "ISV", you get a bunch of results that are tagged with ISV, but are not necessarily as relevant as articles with "ISV" in the body.

Admittedly, the author thought that the post related to the tag, but many use a kind of scattergun approach to tagging.

The macro search feature would be very good to achieve the sort of scenario I mentioned on Eddie Amos's blog.

  • thanks for the comments aristippus - I really like the idea and will send over to the Live search team. It'd be very cool to be able to sort by tags...

let me see if we can get this made available

  • Steve,

Thanks for the feedback.  I got the macro published to the Live Gallery.

I suppose I stitched myself up with maintaining it now.
