Check out the new Windows Mobile site that appeared this week. Okay, so it's not Silverlight but still pretty nice.

I'm quite excited about the new creative approach we're taking on some of our websites and hope we do see more and more Silverlight appearing.

  • Did you see this post at blogs.msdn.com

  • I couldn't help but think: "I hope whomever's driving that boat isn't trying to do email at the same time or they'll smack into that jetty." Sorry - I know I'm evil but...

  • I don't think you can just shrug off the 'shame it's not Silverlight' thing, Steve; this isn't the first, and it almost certainly won't be the last. Does it matter? - yes, people are noticing. Me for example. In my work with clients, I'm frequently asked 'should we go with product X or Y?'. Evidence like this doesn't exactly encourage me to recommend Silverlight over Flash.

Maybe we need a new Hugh cartoon. 'Microsoft: change the world, or buy a copy of Adobe CS3 on your way home.'

  • Simon - I'm with you. The challenge with some of this stuff though is it's been in train for quite a while and shifting to Silverlight would push out the planned launches of the site etc. Not an excuse, just the reality of projects like this. Rest assured there is a lot of noise internally with people demanding that all of our external stuff is Silverlight...it'll get there for sure, but it'll just take some time to unstitch existing work and to ensure all our suppliers have Silverlight skills.
