Turning the Pages 2.0 in Silverlight

    Good spot from Ashish Shetty

The British Library's Turning The Pages project is currently featuring 5 treasures from across the United Kingdom . In addition to the Windows Vista version (specifically a WPF browser app a.k.a. XBAP) of the app, there's now a new Silverlight

We need to see more of this kind of stuff in Silverlight - there are some great projects out there and with Silverlight 2.0 on the way, the momentum is beginning.

    My favourite new gadget

I collected my Eye Fi card last week from my pal Ben Tamblyn and can't tell you how excited I am about this gadget - it's too cool for school.

Though I didn't get to use it in Seattle much as I couldn't find an open (enough) network to configure the card, I finally managed to get it setup at the BA lounge in Seattle airport. I was a little nervous that it wouldn't work in my Leica D-LUX3 but given their site says Panasonic is supported I figured I had a good chance.

I finally got home today and started to put it through its paces. It's brilliant - the setup, software and experience are all very elegant and seeing your photos magically "appear" on Flickr is a thing of wonder. It was only a few years ago I was putting a PCMCIA card in to my laptop to give it WiFi - now I have a 2GB SD card with WiFi built in. Stunning.

Everyone should buy one. Now.  $99....is a steal for tech this cool.
