Yesterday I was cringing over this cheezy video but today I’m smiling. I like our increasing ability to laugh at ourselves. The irony will be lost on many though :) Not sure if it’s Microsoft 1, blogosphere 0 but pretty funny all the same.
who is it that did the 'gorilla plays drums' social bullsh*t? anyway, my point is - this (edited obviously) would kick the sh*t as an advert out of all those IBM corporate ads and indeed everyting else Microsoft does currently in the ad space. Show some balls, stick it in the real TV world!
It puts out great messages in a non-microsoft form. and thats the irony. i know so many people in microsoft (bill and steve among them, if the internal video situation-comedies are anything to by) who know this is the way to go.
The sad thing about this video is that the blogosphere actually expects this kind of crap video from Microsoft - that's why nobody questioned it. So yeah, it could be Microsoft 1 - Blogosphere 0, but the fact that so many people believed it, sort of puts the egg back on Microsoft's face.
I'm still cringing... In fact, twitching. Badly.
P.S. They should have hired Jim Allchin to do the gig. Now that would have been funny and then we could have laughed at ourselves :-)
