Some people get all the cool gigs – including my old pal Vince Mendillo who is quoted in the BBC News piece about Ferrari’s use of Microsoft’s HPC Server. In fact it’s another of my old pals who is behind this product – Ryan Waite – between them I can’t believe they haven’t tapped me up to pop down to Maranello to talk about HPC….perhaps it’s because I actually don’t know that much about it. Trust me though, I could learn really quickly and I know a teeny bit about computational fluid dynamics which is what it seems Ferrari are using it for.

Joking aside, it’s fascinating to see how far Windows has come, especially if you look at Wired’s history of Windows.
