Mel blogged about our new Arc Mouse this weekend and whilst I don’t think it’ll replace the Starck mouse as my favourite Microsoft mouse, it does look pretty interesting.

When I first saw this mouse I thought it was a bit too much style over function but seeing the detailed photos from Mel has me more intrigued as it doesn’t look as highly bridged as I thought and I suspect it’s very light. What I love about the Starck is its lightness and the simplicity of the click action. Sad eh how much thought I put in to mouse choice but when you spend as long playing with these rodents as I do you tend to get a bit picky about them. Maybe it’s just me….most people laugh when they see I use a Starck mouse, mainly as it’s a cabled mouse but this downside is far outweighed by the design for me. Simple, elegant and functional. My only disappointment is we stopped making them :(

Lets see if the Arc can take the mantle.

  • I bought one last week, and I must say it works great..really sensitive and feels silky great in my hand..

a few slight issue: the mouse is just a bit too small to fit my pink on it, and I do have small hands. So I end up moving my pink across the desk, or putting it under the "arc"..

You also see finger spots on the silky surface of the mouse. And a last one: with my small hands I cant reach the left side button..:)

It is really form over function, as I do enjoy design items..but it works just great!

It is very light as well..I love it!
