    Great Ads #18

Great spot by Wired – the new ads for the Nikon Coolpix S60 with face recognition technology. Racier version after the jump

    XBOX 360 Imitated Playstation Logo

Hardly likely but funny all the same.

For the first time in ages I’ve spent some time on XBOX this Christmas as my brother (actually my nephew) is a big game player. I’m not in to games so much but I did have a fun time customizing my brothers avatar on the new dashboard to look nothing like him. I also love the way XBOX neatly integrates with Zune so have been playing all my tunes through the XBOX – it’d be great if they could work out how to pull the album art from the Zune too.

    Gapingvoid Goes Fine Art

My friend just got in to the fine art print business. This should be fun

Of course fine art is all in the eye of the beholder but I’m in for this first print…I think he’s on to something and I’m happy to be a part of it.

    ViaPost: Right Place, Right Time?

Some friends of mine are involved is this interesting startup business so I have a vested interest in them being successful – though I think they may have hit upon a great solution at the perfect time. Put simply, they enable to you to save money on post by sending physical post direct from your computer.

You install a print driver that adds a “Send it ViaPost” to your print options and leave the rest to ViaPost. They print it a location close to where it needs to go and barcoded up with a Royal Mail stamp to take it the last few miles. The service itself costs less than a first class stamp (which I think currently run at 36p) and carbon emissions are reduced by around 80%

You can download the driver now (Windows only) and get cracking.
