    Twitter Ads on MSN Wonderwall

Let’s get one thing clear – I don’t hang out on MSN’s Wonderwall but as I wandered over there today to see their new Twitter integration “Celebrifeed” and was interested to see not only ads in the middle of the feed but sponsored posts (see the second down in the second column). I’m pretty sure those Cookie Guy posts aren’t in the Twitter public timeline so this is an interesting way to integrate an ad campaign in to Twitter

So, the Twitter boys are in no rush to ad ads but it’s happening elsewhere. It’d be fascinating to see whether Chips Ahoy gets a return on this.

Microsoft Touch Pack for Windows 7

    <br/><a href="" target="_new" title="Windows 7 Touch - Globe Application">Video: Windows 7 Touch - Globe Application</a>

Brandon has all the details over on the  Windows 7 Team Blog of the Microsoft Touch Pack for Windows 7. The team used the anniversary of showing Windows 7 touch at the D: All Things Digital conference to intro this pack.

The Microsoft Touch Pack for Windows 7 is a set of six multi-touch optimized applications and games that are designed to truly showcase the capabilities of Windows Touch in Windows 7. It consists of 3 casual games, and 3 Microsoft Surface applications that have been created for Windows 7.

Brandon has all the details on the 5 other games/app in addition to Microsoft Surface Globe that you see above. Now if they could just add Pong to the pack we’d be all sorted.

Ed Bott has an initial review on his blog

Zune HD Lands – with OLED and multitouch web browser

[update] the ZuneHD site wasn’t working when I checked this morning but it’s up now. Not much more there but a nice looking page :)

It’s been rumoured for a while but today we announced the US availability of Zune HD, the next iteration of the Zune device line. It looks terrific though it’s a shame I’m going to have to wait to pick one up this summer in the US – I was hoping we’d see UK availability too.

What will be available in the UK is the Zune video service on Xbox LIVE – which is also coming to Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the UK.

Meantime, here are the specs for Zune HD. I’m digging the built in multitouch web browser and OLED. Mmmm

    • Zune HD comes with a built-in HD Radio receiver so users can listen to higher-quality sound than traditional radio on the go. Users also will have access to the additional song and artist data broadcast by HD Radio stations as well as additional channels from their favorite stations multicasting in HD. If you don’t like the song playing on your station’s HD channel, switch to its HD2 or HD3 channels for additional programming.
    • The bright OLED touch screen interface allows users to flip through music, movies and other content with ease, and the 16:9 widescreen format display (480x272 resolution) offers a premium viewing experience on the go.
    • The HD-compatible output lets Zune HD customers playback supported HD video files from the device through a premium high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) audiovisual docking station (sold separately) direct to an HD TV in 720p.*
    • Zune HD will include a full-screen Internet browser optimized for multitouch functionality.
    • Zune HD is Wi-Fi enabled, allowing for instant streaming to the device from the more than 5 million-track Zune music store.

Gates is 2nd Most Creative Person in Business

Melinda Gates that is, wife of Bill Gates. She’s 2nd only to Jonathan Ive on the 100 Most Creative People In Business list from Fast Company.

Before I even clicked the link I knew Ive would be top with the iPod, iPhone, Macbook, Air and other products behind him but I was surprised (pleasantly) to see Melinda at #2 but when you think about what the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is up to and the fact that she’s the driving force behind it, perhaps it’s not quite so surprising.

Some other interesting names in there such as Blaise Aguera y Arcas, Evan Williams and Dave Morin
