I was reading my feeds this morning and noticed a post from BusinessWeek titled Twitter Hack Highlights Cloud Risks. It caught my eye as the whole Twitter debacle of the last 24 hours has nothing to do with Cloud Risks and everything to do with poor security. It’s telling that when you follow the link, the story title changes to Hackers Target Twitter and the focus is correctly placed on the need for strong passwords and good security practices. That holds true for cloud computing, on premises computing or indeed home computing.
The post does tackle the issues of security in the cloud and the heightened potential for intrusion but lets get real – security matters everywhere so don’t be fooled in to thinking that securing the cloud is the big story here. The big story is what the post really focuses on – the need for people to use strong passwords!
Why did the title of the story in the feed and the story on the website differ? Who knows…I just though it was a bit misleading.
