It never ceases to amaze me how people want Windows Mobile devices to look like other devices. A while back there was the iPOD skin for Pocket PC (which I've lost the link to) and now a Motorola RAZR style skin for the phone on Pocket PC. It does look pretty cool though and only costs about a quid in real money!
The guys at Skype have released a new build (2 in fact) for Pocket PC with plenty of new stuff - notably full support for Windows Mobile 5, landscape and more.
As an aside, these guys live in the same building as Microsoft here in London. Not seen any of them walking around with a Pocket PC so far though... :)
I didn't even think this was a Microsoft site when i first saw it but the bottom left has the little "hosted by Microsoft" thing. Looks like this has the potential to be a pretty cool conference and in Vegas too :) From March 20th to 22nd, this is aimed at pretty much anyone interested in the next generation of the web. Live will feature large on the agenda of course, as will Vista Media Centre, XBOX 360, IE7 and AJAX will get plenty of airtime. Oh and Bill will be there which is always fun.
Needless to say there is a blog and an RSS feed associated.
Well I didn't see this one coming - we announced today that we're teaming up with the big M - yeah, MTV! We'll have an integrated MTV music service inside of Media Player - though I'm not sure if this will be country specifc, it'd be cool to see it in the UK. Meantime, I'm happy using Napster To Go with my Samsung PMC to download over 1m (well okay, from a library of over 1m) to my Media Center and my PMC. Sweet :) Looks like the MTV service is going to have over 2m songs!
Well I got my 360 one week after launch and have it all hooked up and ready for PGR3 which is due next week for me. Meantime, I played some Need for Speed which was pretty good but Gotham will easily consume 25% of my Christmas I reckon :)
The unit itself managed to pass by unviewed in the Clayton household for a record amount of time - until the wireless controller was spotted on the coffee table and thus ensued an hour of two of why we NEEDED another gadget in the house. Now all I need to do is figure out what I should do with my 2 original XBOX's (one US, one UK). Clearly I will keep one for the Clayton Collection but that will need careful orchestration of my loft to ensure it's not "donated" somewhere.
My favourite part of 360 so far? The wirless controller is outstanding - it's amazing how liberating removing one simple cable can be but it just makes gaming soooooo much nicer not having to worry about that trailing cord.
More reviews next week when PGR hits Chez Clayton
