Steve Yi is a director of product management for SQL Azure, Microsoft’s line of cloud computing database services within the Azure Services Platform, and was part of the original Azure launch team when it was announced in 2008.
In prior roles at Microsoft Steve was a product manager for BizTalk Server, worked directly with customers and partners in field consulting, led business development with partners, and evangelized Microsoft platforms and products with developers and architects. As part of his corporate responsibilities he has also helped drive significant M&A and business strategy initiatives.
Before joining Microsoft, Steve spent several years as a consultant for large software and systems integration efforts utilizing both Microsoft .NET and J2EE technologies. As a subject matter expert he has been a published technical columnist, industry spokesperson and conference speaker.
Steve has a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems and an Executive MBA from Southern Methodist University. Born and raised in New York, he now resides in the Seattle area of Washington state.
