The office may be a little mixed up but one thing that I don't take as lightly is my Windows Desktop. Have you ever been using someone else's computer and started cleaning up their desktop by deleting things you know they never open or execute? That's me. There are always multiple projects going on at once, so each has to have its own folder. Of course, there are straggler things that end up on the Desktop. But this is usually just the chopping block for things waiting to get the axe. I don't even like shortcuts or actual files saved on my desktop. Why have a shortcut to every program on your machine on the Desktop? It looks bad too me and defeats the purpose of having shortcuts. I prefer to use the taskbar for buttons for Outlook, Word, IE, etc and some other internal stuff I may use frequently. Yes there is a wizard that will clean your desktop for you but I like to do it my way. I used to spend time picking the perfect picture for my desktop since I would have to look at it for a long time. I really don't care that much anymore. I've been using the built-in backgrounds lately. I recommend 'Power'.
