We've highlighted education and Microsoft Surface a few times before. I had inquiries on Twitter and I thought it would be good to post a compilation on Surface in education. Here are some applications by Microsoft, our Microsoft Surface partners and others.
We've had a number of higher education institutions buying Microsoft Surface as well, so if you're at college you may see curricula including Surface in markets where it's available. Education developers - don't forget that MSDN-AA has the Microsoft Surface SDK Workstation Edition for subscribers to get you started. Let me know if I've missed anything in my list above. I'll make future posts on healthcare, financial services, etc.
Cheers. Eric
We had the great honor of a visit from Chris Pirillo yesterday. He's a tech community hub, blogger, live-video blogger and tech expert for CNN. He's also the founder and host for Gnomedex. He and Mona stopped by to chat about the logistics of me bringing Microsoft Surface to the conference - plus we had some fun on Surface. (See photo left.)
If you're following Chris, and aren't signed up for Gnomedex, what are you waiting for? Check out the video below to see what we have in store for attendees.
The Microsoft Surface SDK Workstation Edition is now available for subscribers with the MSDN Academic Alliance!
MSDN-AA makes it easier and less expensive for academic institutions to obtain Microsoft developer tools, platforms and servers for instructional and research purposes. Microsoft Surface's multi-touch, multi-user experience is already changing the world. Now, professors will be able to differentiate themselves and their school – building curricula on how to develop for Surface as a springboard into the future of computing. Students will be able to run the simulator on every workstation in the lab, developing with Surface for application projects. Learn more about registering for MSDN-AA.
