Bart Roozendaal is one of the members of our thriving Dutch Microsoft Surface community, CEO of Sevensteps, and a Surface MVP. When Bart was in Redmond for the Microsoft MVP Summit, he stopped by our studio to show me a couple of the applications Sevensteps produced for Surface on the new Samsung SUR40 for Microsoft Surface. (Don’t forget to check out Bart and the Surface MVPs as well as our own Luis Cabrera in sessions at MIX in April.)
The Real Estate Agent application provides a platform for the agent and the customer to browse properties together while at the agent’s office. There is also a version of the app for Windows slates that can be used to take along when touring properties.

There are some great combinations in life. Peanut butter and chocolate. Ernie and Burt. Bacon and Maple Bars. That last one might be a bit polarizing. Here’s one I think we might agree on. Dr. Holly Yanco over at UMass Lowell’s Robotics Lab tipped me off on this today. Microsoft Surface + Parrot AR Drone + the DREAM Controller.
Back in January, I shared some video created by Winwise with their Surface application for controlling the AR Drone. (Incidentally, Luis just posted about the code now being available on Codeplex, if you’re interested.) In January, I mused about the great potential for adding the University of Mass Lowell’s Robotics Lab DREAM Controller project to the picture. Guess what? They did it. It’s one of the great Surface mashups I’ve seen so far this year. (Note, these are all on the original Surface device.)

Here’s some more background on the DREAM controller. Also, don't miss this integration with Portal and Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Here’s the Winwise project with the AR Drone in January.

Eric posted about the work Nicolas Calvi, one of our MVPs, had done to control his AR Drone from the Surface device. http://blogs.msdn.com/b/surface/archive/2011/01/27/controlling-the-ar-drone-with-surface.aspx.[Video: Flying AR DRONE with Microsoft Surface - Winwise]
Nicolas shared with us that he posted the code in codeplex so that anyone can have fun!http://winwiseardrone.codeplex.com/
Great Job Nicolas!
