Imagine Cup is an annual worldwide student competition with categories ranging from digital arts to software design. More than 200 000 students from 100 countries entered the competition in 2008. As with the Olympics, Imagine Cup finalists compete at the world finals, which are held in a different country each year.

Microsoft Switzerland will organize Swiss Imagine Cup 2009 finals in Bern on 8th May 2009. Local finals competition will be held in all Imagine Cup 2009 categories with two or more competing teams from Switzerland (If some category has only one competing team from Switzerland, they will be awarded as Swiss winners of that category). Microsoft sponsors train tickets for the invited students to join the finals in Bern and hosts fun evening to celebrate the local talents. The jury will select and award top Swiss talents across all local competition categories with great prizes:

And as a part of the You Make IT Smart campaign the 35 first Swiss students who compete in Embedded Development category, as well as, the 35 Swiss competitors getting the highest scores in Round 1 of the Robotics & Algorithms category will also be awarded with a LEGO® MINDSTORMS® NXT.
