Back in December we released Hyper-V Beta, followed by RC0 in March, RC1 in May and now RTM in June! This has been one heck of a ride – it’s pretty cool to see this feature go from design, to code, to binaries, to working binaries. And it’s been really personally inspiring to see how excited and happy customers/partners are about it.
These links will be live at 12PM PST on June 26th.
Windows Server 2008 x64 Hyper-V RTM Update – KB950050 <<<THIS IS THE LINK YOU WANT… This updates the Hyper-V host/parent/server components, including all the server components, Hyper-V Manager UI, and the vmguest.iso which has the integration components’s for all of the Microsoft guest OS’s (including the newly supported ones).
Windows Server 2008 x86 Hyper-V RTM Update – KB950050 This updates the Hyper-V Manager UI (for remote management) as well as the integration components – if you want to produce slipstream Server 2008 images with the RTM Hyper-V components this is the update you need.

This is the supplementary language pack for Czech, Hungarian, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Russian, Swedish, Turkish, Chinese (People’s Republic of China), Chinese (Taiwan), Chinese (Hong Kong S.A.R.). Update for Windows Vista – KB952627 Hyper-V Manager for Vista x86
Hyper-V RC1 to RTM Upgrade Considerations *Saved-state files are not between RC1 and RTM releases of Hyper-V. AGAIN saved-state files ARE supported between RC1 and RTM – but not RC0 and RTM.
*System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 Beta requires a patch to work with RTM (same update as RC1). See SCVMM - System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 Beta: Update For Hyper-V RC1
*New Integration Components (ICs) must be installed for your supported guest operating systems. Integration Components are specific to the build of Hyper-V. RTM Integration Components for all supported Windows Operating Systems are provided using the ‘Action’ -> ‘Insert Integration Services Setup Disk’ action.
RTM Integration Components for all supported Windows Operating Systems are part of the IC Setup Disk. Simply install the Hyper-V RC1 Integration Components for Windows Server 2008 the same way you do all other Windows ICs (‘Action’ -> ‘Insert Integration Services Setup Disk’). Note You need to close the found new hardware wizard before setup will begin on all Windows Operating Systems.
Many people have asked for additional guest OS support… I am very happy to announce that we have qualified and support all of the following OS’s:
Major additions: Windows 2000 Server/Advanced Server, Windows XP x64 (1/2CPU), Windows Vista x64 SP1 (1/2CPU), Windows Server 2003 x64 2CPU.
