I met
Joel DeYoung
, creator of the popular
SquawkBox
add-on for FlightSim, last night at
Redhook
in Woodinville and talked with him and a couple other folks from the team over a few beers. (Note: Joel's website seemed to be down when I tried this morning.) Joel is a full timer in the game industry and programs SB in his spare time. It is used by legions of on-line pilots to communicate with each other and create a virtual air traffic network. I have to complement Joel on his programming prowess.
Plus, in addition to being a smart developer, Joel is proudly and openly Canadian and lives just up the street (sort of) in Vancouver, BC. So some of the conversation had to revolve around the return of Hockey Night in Canada (and
Don Cherry
) on the CBC, the amenities of of
GM Place
, and the availability of really great, cheap sushi on
Denman Street
.
